Cosmetic Injectables

BOTOX® and Dysport

BOTOX® and Dysport are commonly used to reduce or eliminate the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Made from a purified protein, neurotoxins have the ability to relax the muscles you use to create facial wrinkles, giving you a refreshed, younger look.

Answer: Neuromodulators are products used to relax overactive muscles. Neuromodulators are most commonly injected around the eyes, brow, forehead, glabella, and neck, in order to soften existing wrinkles (by weakening the muscle that create the lines) and prevent future wrinkles from forming.

Answer: While results may vary between each patient, typically the Neuromodulators begin working within a few days following treatment, however their full effect doesn’t occur until about 7-10 days post procedure. It is important to be patient until the full results of the neuromodulator reveal themselves.

Answer: Ideally, anyone who is undergoing injectable treatment should prepare for their procedure by avoiding anything that thins the blood. We advise our patients to stop taking medications/supplements such as Aspirin, Aleve, Ibuprofen, Vitamin E, fish oil, gingko biloba, ginger, and green tea, for 7-10 days prior to treatment in order to reduce the risk of bruising.

Answer: Generally, Botox/Dysport takes about 7-10 days for the full effects to take show, and last between 3-4 months.

  • Contract the injected muscles for 1 hour post treatment
  • Stay in an upright position for 4 hours post treatment
  • Do not touch the injected area for 4 hours post treatment
  • No vigorous exercise for the first hour post treatment
  • Some clients may develop a mild grade headache post treatment
  • Pain killers such as Aspirin or Tylenol do not affect your Botox Cosmetic® injection
  • Your initial results will appear within 72 hours and results will continue to appear for up to 14 days after your injection
  • Please follow up with your injector if you have any questions or concerns

Dermal fillers

Dermal fillers are cosmetic injections used to restore facial harmony by reducing or eliminating wrinkles, raising scar depressions and superficial fines lines, enhancing certain features and replacing soft-tissue volume loss.

Dermal fillers are used for in conjunction with neuromodulators, like Botox and Dysport, , to contour the jawline/lower face, correct volume loss in the midface/cheek areas, AND treat depressions caused by scars and wrinkles. We MAY also use facial fillers to help balance out asymmetry and deformities caused by other medical conditions.

Answer: The dermal fillers we use are not permanent, but do stimulate collagen over time, thereby changing your aging path starting with your first treatment. Various types of fillers are available; each is designed with one or several purposes, such as wrinkle reduction or lip augmentation. Many of the natural fillers we use are composed of Hyaluronic acid, a substance that is naturally produced in our bodies. Some of the HA HYALURONIC ACID fillers we use include: Revanesse, Emervel, Juvederm, Teosyal and Stylage. Radiesse, a type of filler made of calcium hydroxyapatite, is generally used for more severe volume correction and lifting needs. Radiesse is a longer-lasting filler because the body forms collagen around the microspheres; adding bulk to the injected areas.

Answer: The average length of the cosmetic injections of Dermal Fillers is about 15-45 minutes per session depending on the individual, goal of treatment, and the number of areas being treated. Some individuals’ treatments may require a few a step process in order to achieve the most natural looking and optimal results.

Answer: Before your procedure avoid taken medication that thins the blood such as Ibuprofen, Aspirin, Aleve,Vitamin E, fish oil, ginger, gingko biloba, and green tea, for 7-10 days prior to treatment in order to reduce the risk of bruising.

Answer: Some of the most common side effects following treatment include, but are not limited to: bruising at injection site, numbness, and temporary redness, swelling, pain/tenderness, or discoloration. Cosmetic injections require very minimal downtime, allowing patients to return to work and their normal activities soon after treatment.

Some common injection-related reactions could occur, such as redness, swelling, pain, itching, bruising, discoloration and tenderness at the site of implant. These reactions noticeably decrease within 1 to 2 days after skin injections and within 2 weeks after lip injections.

Use ice on the swollen areas to help reduce swelling and redness. Do not apply heat to the injected areas.

Lip augmentation can look somewhat uneven after injection. Therefore your results directly after treatment should not be seen as the final result.
